“Do Something You Hate EVERYDAY”- David Goggins
Andrew Huberman- a very well known podcaster and neuroscientist,in his recent podcast with David Goggins mentioned about the part of our brain which is called “Anterior Midcingulate Cortex” -A.M.C - its presence is on both sides of the brain
The interesting thing about this part is that if one does take challenges out of their COMFORT zone, the size of A.M.C increases and that corresponds to higher will power. This did resonate with me very well and I couldn’t agree more to the fact that doing things that were out of my comfort zone did help me gain more confidence, even if I encountered failures.
(Example: The first week of training in Jiu-Jitsu, I was slammed and could not survive a round in front of 16 and 22 year olds. I was atleast 8–9 years older than them.I could sit around feeling like a failure but since I had paid a heavy chunk of money, I had to get most out of my membership. I did well after few months and did score a silver medal in a tournament)
